My loved one, it is my prayer that you may do well in all things,

and be healthy in body, even as your soul does well. 3 John 1:2
- Basic English Bible

There may be some wondering why health initiatives are on this website. After all, we are not health professionals. But we do want everyone possible to be in good health. So if providing this information helps just one individual,  the intent of adding this information to the site has been accomplished. We will not offer any health advice, however we do encourage everyone reading this page to at least consider the information provided.

It is our intent to address the total person, mind, body, soul and spirit. We can all agree that the testimonies provided on other the  pages show that there is a need to address the body as well as the mind , soul and spirit.

We trust God. We know that He is a healer. We know that there is nothing too hard for him. We also know that all good and perfect things come from above. We know that it is He who has given mankind the knowledge and the wisdom to do all that they have accomplished, in all fields but especially in medicine.

[1]“God created us as intelligent beings and gave us the ability to create medicines and learn how to repair our bodies. There is nothing wrong with applying this knowledge and ability towards physical healing. Doctors can be viewed as God’s gift to us, a means through which God brings healing and recovery. At the same time, our ultimate faith and trust is to be in God, not in doctors or medicine. As with all difficult decisions, we should seek God who promises to give us wisdom when we ask for it (James 1:5)”.

All conditions and/or issues that affect our body are serious and some at some point can escalate to be life threating. We can’t include them all here, but some of the ones that are closely  monitored by doctors are listed. Again we are not  health care professionals, however, we do utilize the health care system ourselves.  As stated above, we will NOT provide any advice, the only suggestion we make is that the information provided be considered so that we can all share in a better quality of life.

HIGH BLOOD CHOLESTEROL:

High blood cholesterol is a condition in which you have too much cholesterol in your blood. By itself, the condition usually has no signs or symptoms. Thus, many people don’t know that their cholesterol levels are too high.

People who have high blood cholesterol have a greater chance of getting coronary heart disease, also called coronary artery disease. The higher the level of LDL cholesterol in your blood, the GREATER your chance is of getting heart disease.

The higher the level of HDL cholesterol in your blood, the LOWER your chance is of getting heart disease.

High Blood Cholesterol can only be diagnosed by taking a blood test. To know what your numbers are see a health care professional.

DIABETES:

What is diabetes?

Diabetes is a disease in which your body does not use or produce insulin properly. Insulin is a hormone produced by your pancreas, and is necessary for the absorption of sugar. This sugar, commonly called glucose, is your body's main source of fuel.

Two Main Types:

Type 1 diabetes is the most serious, and occurs when the body produces no insulin at all. Type 2 diabetes is the most common, affecting up to 95% of the diagnosed population. Type 2 diabetics do produce some insulin, but their body's cells have become resistant to it.Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disorder, meaning your immune system attacks the cells that produce insulin. Type 2 diabetes can be caused by obesity, physical inactivity and family history.

Common symptoms of diabetes:

  • Urinating often

  • Feeling very thirsty

  • Feeling very hungry - even though you are eating

  • Extreme fatigue

  • Blurry vision

  • Cuts/bruises that are slow to heal

  • Weight loss - even though you are eating more (type 1)

  • Tingling, pain, or numbness in the hands/feet (type 2)

Diabetes is diagnosed by having a blood test. If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms or have questions or concerns see a health care professional.
